Referring to your Despatch No. 94 of 11th.. April, I have the honour to enclose copies of two letters addressed to this Government by the Chief Kanager of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation which explain the position with regard to the security deposited by the Bank against its note issue.

I take the opportunity of forwarding a further letter from Kr. N. J. Stabb in explanation of the telegram of 16th. April instructing the Crown Agents to release additional security
to the value of £200,000.
